Duration:

Content:

The OSTESA EU project concerns the development of transversal competencies of managers (especially leadership) and employees to improve and build the positive organisational climate in companies/organisations/institutions. To ignite employees' motivation and sense of ownership, managers must understand—and apply—a framework, feedback, and some tools for reaping the advantages of a positive organizational climate. With layoffs and quarterly losses on the rampage today, companies that succeed are striving to make sure it feels good for their employees to work with them. Their leaders are finding ways to assign manageable workloads, improve morale, lower anxiety, and focus the employees on contributing in their current job rather than finding their next one. Key to this success is leadership that encourages a collaborative, synergetic, and creative work environment. In a positive organizational climate, employees have the confidence and stability they need to serve customers more effectively with more innovative products. Positive organizational climate is not a goal unto itself. It is a key link in a company's ability to maintain and improve performance. Successful leaders take pains to ignite a chain reaction that improves climate, increases motivation, and enhances performance.

The role of Color association method in psychological assessment of Serbian handball team for Euro 2014

Abstract:

Obiettivi:
Color Association Method (CAM), is a projective technique based on Lüscher’s color test. CAM claims to
explore mental resilience during the competition by measuring athlete’s self-perception of pain, effort,
fear, tiredness, injury, readiness for competition and training, ability to take a risk during the match, and
relying on habits in sports context. Result on CAM can vary from zero to 100. The aim of this research was
to explore application of CAM in pre-competition personality assessment of national Serbian handball
female team for European championship 2014.
Metodo:
Seventeen members of Serbian senior handball women’s team for European championship 2014, were
tested by CAM, SCAT and CSAI-2. Descriptive statistics and ANOVA were applied.
Risultati: Results of ANOVA suggested there is significant relation between SCAT score and CAM measure of
tiredness (F=6,459; p<0,006), training (F=7,639; p<0,003) and competition (F=4,417; p<0,021), and result on
Cognitive anxiety subscale of CSAI-2 and CAM injury (F=4,155; p<0,026).
Discussione/Conclusioni:
This reasearch indicate possible application of CAM in sport psychology assessment. Applied on Serbian
handball national team during pre-competition period for European championship 2014, it has been shown
that subjective sense of tiredness might be connected with the highest SCAT scores, while optimal mental
state for training and competition is related to average results on SCAT. Furthermore, the lowest levels of
cognitive anxiety measured by CSAI-2, best corresponds with theoretical average value on CAM injury
measure. It might be concluded that high level of sport competition anxiety (SCAT) corresponds with
subjective feeling of tiredness, while optimal mental state for competition and training is around average
arousal level. Low cognitive anxiety goes hand in hand with realistic perception of injury during competition
(average CAM injury scores).

ULOGA METODE ASOCIJACIJA BOJAMA U PSIHOLOŠKOJ PRIPREMI SPORTAŠA

Content:

''Nadležnost'' svijesti često je precijenjena (Damasio, 2010; Damasio i Carvalho, 2013; Araujo, Kaplan i Damasio, 2013; Man i sur., 2013). Suprotno tome, metoda asocijacije bojama mjeri necenzurirane autentične asocijacije/odgovore.

Mogućnost primene metoda asocijacije boja u sportskoj psihologiji

Content:

I consider it to be a gift that I have had the opportunity to systematically observe the successful development and improvement of the color-word association techniques by psychologist Jiří Šimonek senior since 1991. At that time we started using CAmethod as a research tool for measuring internal psychological changes in preventive counseling and psychotherapeutic work with boys who had behavioral disorders. Over the past 20 years, color-word association technique was also very useful to me in other areas of my psychological practice (marriage counseling, Human Resources, expert work...). My clients frequently ask me, what kind of a test" it is, and I answer that it is a "tomography of the human soul" of sorts. Once they have seen the results, they usually nod in agreement.

I was amazed by the depth of information revealed by the CA Method. It offers a unique insight into people and is therefore a great tool for understanding a persons true potential.

The cooperation with DAP Services gave us a breakthrough in the long-term development of our employees. We could identify the main causes of motivational blocks for both individual and teams. The results were surprising, and really opened our eyes. Employees themselves evaluated the trainings based on CA Method diagnostic very positive. Other times, lax programmers crowded the trainings in a record short time. It is obvious that diagnostics outputs makes sense and the trainings really help them.

After 25 years of working experience with people as an employee, then as Manager and Human Resources Manager and even in my day-to-day life, I have reconciled the fact that people only tell me what they want to, what is "safe" for them. All individual "sit-downs", interviews, questionnaires, assessment centers, team-building events, satisfaction surveys provided me with a certain amount of information that were valuable, but insufficient to identify "essence facts", both in individuals and teams. It always reminded me of an iceberg, where I can see its top and the sea around it, but miss "the nine tenths of the iceberg" which were under the surface. Like most Managers, through observation and intuition, experience and even by accident, I have perceived only bits and pieces of what people really think and desire, what motivates them, where they get stuck, and made a lot of managerial and human mistakes. Gradually I became more confident. Unfortunately, this experience is not transferable. Four years ago I met Dr. Filip Brodan, Jiří Šimonek Sr. and encountered the CAmethod. Initially I was filled with skepticism, distrust. I like colors, but still: colors and words ... How can it work? As for me, my own experience is always the most important thing - so I tried it. And the result? CAmethod is the only one, which really found out what were "the nine tenths of my iceberg" concealed below the surface. And it still manages to... CAmethod approaches the individual and his/her interaction with the environment holistically (complexly) and takes into account the variability, movement and development of both factors. CAmethod does not "brand" or "evaluate", nor does it "pigeonhole" individuals. It simply shows that any unbalanced interaction with the environment has its advantages and disadvantages, and that it can be changed. Thanks to the CAmethod, when I recruit, coach, train and develop individuals or teams, I know exactly and very specifically:where to start! There is no need for trial and error or wasting one's valuable time on survey questions to find out what people really think, how they work, what makes them successful or unsuccessful. Last but not least: the CAmethod ensures self-development, which I consider its most valuable contribution.

My first experience with color-word association test was in 2009 via the Balance Management concept by Zamestnanci.com. Since then the method has caused many interesting and emotional moments of revelation both to me and the people and groups that went through their results with me. In my practice and in the company I work for I use the CAmethod to uncover subliminal, irrational and emotional stereotypes in thinking and behavior. The most common form of use is when I do coaching, consultation for personal development and verification of progress in the implementation of individual development plans, or when I organize self-discovery courses. Unlike the classic personal tests, the CA method offers the advantage of describing the reality as it is, not as it should be.

The CA method led me to a new type of information. Through using it I can five my clients answers, which they could never get before. In addition, I don’t have to use expensive scanning techniques (FMRi, SST). When compared with the traditional approaches, this is the biggest difference I see: online processing allows the use of emotional diagnosis as an objective method of measurement on representative samples. Psychometric segmentation gives answers on how customers think about products, advertising, prices, etc., why some concepts do not work and how they possibly could… The method provides very specific, un-stylized emotional arguments and suggestions for establishing the contents and forms of advertising and the whole communication. This projective technique is validated via a huge sample and continuously monitored in terms of norms. Stylization of the respondents’ answers is minimal. The CAmethod is very apt at sensing changes over the time.

As a consultant in the field of marketing research and brand management I am often asked by my clients which method to use to get the most important information for the success of planned communication campaign.
In the case of brand, where "everything is connected to everything", we are at the same time very interested in getting complex, detailed and in-depth information. Usually, it is not sufficient enough to identify opinions, feelings and expectations of customers who have stored them on the rational brain layer but it is a must to go deeper. Traditional research methods are usually inadequate and modern methods of neuromarketing are too tied to instrumental equipment, special training of researchers, and often cover very narrow topics.
So I tried the technique of color-word association (CWAT which stands for color word association technique) that accurately answers questions such as:
- What is the relationship built by customers (consumers) to our brand? Does this relationship differ by
customer segments?
- How strong is this relationship? What threatens it?
- How do our customers perceive competitive brands?
- How do customers remember the symbols and colors of our brand?
- What do they need to hear about our brand?
- Which communication concept is the right one? Etc.
Companies that have decided for the CWAT have gained a very high quality and reliable answers to their questions. With greater certainty, they may decide not only on the focus and detail of communication, but also other activities that fulfill the brand marketing mix and thus support effective work with the brand. When considering the use of research based on the color-word associations for the first time, marketing managers show some worries and concerns regarding clarity and simplicity of the results and their application in marketing decisions. It happens that sophisticated research methods place greater demands on working with outputs. In this method, the transfer of research results into an understandable form that marketing managers are used to, is on a high level, so working with the results is simple.
For international or global brands CWAT provides more advantage. The research method can be used regardless of cultural differences between individual markets and thus provides with outputs that can be directly compared.
Based on my ten-year experience with the color-word association technique, I can personally recommend its inclusion in modern marketing and brand management.

I am very happy to have taken the opportunity to work with the color associations, as the information from the result confirmed the findings of our questionnaire research, but with only fractional effort while organizing the survey, not to mention the automated statistical preparation of the results, which, in the questionnaire version, took us weeks to finish.

My professional life has been linked to the CAmethod since 2006. As a specialist on work with classroom groups, I very intensively use one of the specific products of this unique method, which is called “Classroom in crisis”. It allows me to offer our clients feedback on the internal dynamics in their classroom groups and allow them to observe events, which they are more or less aware of. This gives them the opportunity to initiate the necessary changes.

I have worked with colors for over 12 years. I appreciated the products and the ethics of the authors of the color-word association technique. I used it as director of an educational care center and as Regional Director of Educational and Psychological Counseling Centre in Zlín. I consider the CA method to be as a very effective tool when working with a client and his family as a system. I understand the results as a "map" which I observe with the client and on which we select the “road he/she may take and be responsible for.

I have been working with the CA method for about 10 years. I originally used its diagnostically supportive and interventional characteristics when dealing with children with behavioral disorders. Gradually I started to work actively with classroom groups and found the CA method to be a very effectively tool for identification and direct naming of the group dynamic and also for determining the appropriate intervention procedure in problematic groups.I perceive CAmethod as a functional tool brings to the diagnostic timeline development.

The first time I learned about the CA method was when I worked on a project where my responsibility was to organize the training program for the management of elementary schools in Zlín and Vysočina regions. At that time I was looking for a functioning evaluation tool to use in schools, and the CAmethod was recommended to me. Because of my initial distrust,we both (me and the project manager) went through analysis using this method. I was surprised by the amount of information on myself that if offered me. This experience was so valuable to me that I offered the method to schools within the project and gradually the CAmethod became part of my profession.
